The True Story: Loved Perfectly
Reality, on the surface, is grim. On a global level our human systems, so optimistically aimed towards ever increasing progress and peace just a few hundred years ago, continue hurling towards self destruction as they always have; only now, with more destructive power. On a personal level we are participating in these things unwittingly. But even more, we are scared, broken, lonely, believing we may be worthless, hopeless, loveless, or alone after all. This is the story we live in, the story we believe; and so, the story we act out daily, the story we write for the world.
But the true story, the Good News, is that we are already Loved Perfectly. We are known. Already we are safe, already we are priceless, precious. Our mistakes, our fears, our weaknesses? Forgiven. Forgotten. Entirely. Far from alone, we are literally wrapped in Love, held by the One who holds the universe. From these hands there is nowhere to fall.
What if this was the story we lived and believed? What if this was the story that motivated our thoughts, our beliefs, our choices?
There is a discrepancy, you tell me; my heart is open but my eyes are shut. What good is believing this Other Story when believing it does nothing to protect me, my innocent children, my faithful parents, from the broken story?
I feel this too, every day. I tremble before this reality.
But. Even then - I am loved perfectly. You are loved perfectly. We are held safe, priceless, precious. We are forgiven, comforted, rejoiced over. Entirely. Already. Regardless.
Only by joining this story can we ever hope to live in peace. Not protection, perhaps; but safety, certainly. And Love.

Perfect. This is where so many people get stuck. And I can't really blame them. When I have been deeply grieving I have asked myself the same question. But, eventually, I live my way back to the answer. Love.
I need time to process this to give you a real answer. You've made me think, as usual.
Where there is peace, there is love, where there is love, there is God.
Thank you for visiting my site and because I read your post you for brought peace to my hectic day.
yes. amen.
Beautifully said. Powerful truth. That is the amazing thing about God...that we are are so full of faults, and yet he loves us--deeper than any human could.
