He is born!

While we still have three days left to wait for His birth, my waiting is finally over.  Today, December 22, 2008, at 2:50pm, after three days of pre-labor, 16 hours of day-of labor, and onlyten minutes of pushing (not to mention only ten excruciating minutes going from 8-10 centimeters), our son has been born.

He weighs in at 6lbs, 14oz, 20.25 inches long.  Stay tuned for the name announcement; in the meantime, A has dubbed him "Little Bee."

We are exhausted, we are rejoicing. I am delivered, he is born.

Just born!  In the first picture, the end of labor went so quickly that my husband didn't have time to get his shirt on after helping me with a hot shower.  In the second picture, A meets his brother for the first time and asks if he can hold him.  This is all so unreal....

Congratulations!

It's quite the mind shift to there being two, and that the oldest is a BROTHER isn't it?

Rejoicing! He looks perfect, and you look VERY happy. Can't wait to hear his name. He shares a birthday with my sis-in-law and is only one day before mine. (We were out celebrating tonight when you posted these pics.)

Happy Birthday, baby!

The baby is beautiful! He has some dark hair and was wiggling his limbs like crazy. 6 lbs, 14 oz. 20.5 inches long. I only saw Cath for 5 minutes, but stared at the baby for hours. He is very smart and has excellent prospects. Asher was laughing at him, because the nurses bathed his head under the sink. He kept on saying "My baby!". Catherine's ... Read Morenurse said that Matthew and Cath made "an excellent team" and that Catherine was very strong. So hopefully they will do this again sometime soon. (ok maybe wait a year or so.) Everyone was there, both sets of grandparents, Asher, and Cath's brother David, which was special because he didn't get to meet Asher until he was 5 months old. Okay, the proud auntie will stop bragging and let the happy family share the rest of the story.
